SENATOR KLAUSMEIER HONORS
“CHESAPEAKE SEARCH DOGS”
FOR THEIR SERVICE ON THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11
(Perry Hall)- On Thursday, September 8, Senator Kathy Klausmeier (D-Baltimore County) honored Chesapeake Search Dogs for their service to the community. Chesapeake Search Dogs is a 100% volunteer driven organization that assists law enforcement, fire services, natural resource authorities, and emergency management agencies in the Chesapeake Bay and Southern Pennsylvania Regions during search and rescue efforts.Ten years ago, Chesapeake Search Dogs aided in the Search and Recovery Effort following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the Pentagon.
“I am so honored to be able to present a Senate of Maryland Citation to this deserving group of handlers and dogs,” said Senator Klausmeier, “their willingness to assist law enforcement and any other group that needs their help, without asking for anything in return, sets a shining example about what volunteerism and public service is all about.”
Chesapeake Search Dogs has been serving the local area, as a valuable resource, for over 14 years. Receiving no public funding and not charging a fee for their services, Chesapeake Search Dogs is completely reliant upon donations from the community to keep their operation going.
