Baltimore County, MD - Senator Kathy Klausmeier is happy to announce that the Maryland General Assembly has awarded funding to the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks for improvements to Belmont Park in Parkville. $75,000 has been approved for fiscal year 2007 to fund the construction of picnic pavilions, a sand volleyball court and other amenities at the park.

"Residents of the 8th District deserve parks and other places of recreation," said Senator Klausmeier, "I am happy that our county delegation was able to work together to secure this money."

Senator Klausmeier added that she will continue to fight for more funding of open space and recreational opportunities that can be utilized by the residents of the 8th Legislative District.
